Kuripe Info

What is a Kuripe?

A Kuripe (pronounced koo-ree-peh) is a small, V-shaped pipe traditionally used in South American indigenous cultures to self-administer Rapé (pronounced ha-peh or ra-peh) — a sacred herbal powder from Amazonian plants, ashes, and natural tobacco. The Kuripe connects the heart, breath, and intention, delivering the medicine from the hand to both nostrils in a sacred, balanced way.

More than a pipe, the Kuripe is a ceremonial tool. It represents a moment of pause — of deep grounding, reset, and remembrance. In our fast-paced world, the Kuripe brings us back to Earth. To breath. To presence.

How Do You Use a Kuripe?

Using a Kuripe is a personal ritual. Here’s a simple step-by-step process for sacred use:

1. Create a safe, intentional space
Sit somewhere quiet. Set an intention—clarity, grounding, heart opening. Breathe slowly.

2. Prepare your Rapé
Choose a blend aligned with your purpose. Tap a small amount into your palm or a clean surface.

3. Load the Kuripe
Pinch or scoop a small amount of Rapé into the shorter end (mouth end). Gently tap the longer end (nose end) upright.

4. Position the pipe
Place the long end into one nostril, and the short end in your mouth. Take a deep breath.

5. Blow firmly, with intention
Exhale a short, focused burst of air through the pipe. The Rapé will enter your nasal cavity.

Sit with it. Let the medicine work.

6. Repeat on the other side
Always balance both nostrils to honor the left/right energetic channels.

7. Rest. Integrate. Breathe.
Let tears, emotions, or stillness arise. Close the ritual when you're ready.
